This a modern cottage in a quiet spot with lovely views on the outskirts of a small French village. The interior is light and modern and from all the main rooms there are peaceful views across the gently rolling farmland. The house and pool are finished to a high standard and being on one level is suitable for all age groups. The small general store is just a short walk into the village, the fresh bread and croissants are very good. The local area is scattered with small villages and market towns all providing a warm welcome for summer visitors. There are festivals of antiques, wine, jazz and blues as well as peaceful lanes for cycling and golf courses, canoeing, and tennis courts. Several local golf courses provide a warm welcome for summer visitors.There is a wide range of restaurants to suit every pocket. However the local produce is so good that the temptation is often to barbeque in the peaceful setting of the garden with no worries about driving home.
Accommodation.
The sitting /dining room has big glass doors leading out onto the terraces on both the south and west aspects giving the room a superb light, sunny feel. There is a huge comfy sofa, an open fire place, TV with English "Free to Air" channels and a DVD player. There are views across the pool from the sitting and dining area which has pretty French furniture and leads into the fully fitted kitchen. It has been generously equipped with crockery, cutlery and utensils. There is a full size hob plus oven, dishwasher and microwave. The washing machine is in the utility room. There are three bedrooms, the double and a twin bedded room face the garden and pool. These have tiled floors and the larger one has a complete wall of fitted cupboards. The single room also has fitted cupboards along the length of one wall. The bathroom has twin basins and a large curved screen shower. There is a separate W.C.
Garden & Pool :
The terrace above the pool is bound to be the focus of your holiday. It is a wide area with room to sunbathe and keep an eye on the pool from a deck chair or sunloungers, provided. This is the place to enjoy meals in the sunshine or under the shade of the stripped awning. There is a brick barbeque, dining table and chairs. Set below the terrace in the prettily planted garden is the immaculate, 8 x 4m, swimming pool. This has wide steps at the shallow end, ideal for those who like to descend gently into the water! Croix de Taly is superb modern cottage, well suited to those who don’t always seek rustic charm but nonetheless require a peaceful country retreat.
