“Les Glycines” is a large village house in the centre of Seyches. The village has a very popular restaurant and a bar with another small restaurant. There is also a tennis court, very good general store, butcher, boulangerie and pharmacie. The local doctor speaks some English and there is a hairdresser. On Friday mornings there is a tiny street market. Seyches is north of Marmande and south of Bergerac in the Lot et Garonne.Throughout the summer the region hosts concerts, fetes, Brocantes fairs, medieval festivals and sporting events. Golf, tennis cycling and canoeing are readily available. Several of the local towns have well developed lakeside tourist facilities which may include water slides, restaurants, swimming, firework displays and bike trail.
Les Glycines is a large square house with a central hallway and four large rooms, with big windows on each of two floors. Downstairs there is a sitting room with two sofas, books and hi fi. The kitchen opposite has large dining table, bright crockery and cutlery and dishwasher and full size cooker, microwave and fridge with freezer compartment. This leads to a shady terrace/deck which looks down to the high porch which traverses the road and is a picturesque feature of the village. There is a store room with washing machine and one twin bedded room downstairs. High double doors lead out to the garden and new 8 x 4 metres pool. The recently established garden has plenty of space to eat, swim, sunbathe and play on the lawn. Upstairs there are two double and one twin bedrooms. The en suite bathroom has a bath and the family bathroom a shower. All the village facilities are within easy walking distance. The price of £850 per week includes bed linen and bathroom towels . There is a single week supplement of £20 in the school holidays. The changeover day is Thursday, avoiding the weekend congestion on the roads.
Les Glycines is the ideal choice for those who prefer to have plenty of facilities on hand rather than be lost in the depths of the countryside. The house itself is very spacious and easily accommodates several generations or groups of friends without being claustrophobic. There is also the distinct advantage of not needing a car after an enjoyable evening in the local restaurant.
