"Toupinerie Bas" is situated on a quiet country lane a couple of miles from the village of St Barthelemy with it’s baker/grocer and bar. The nearest town is Miramont, 7kms away, with it’s busy market on Monday mornings, several supermarkets, banks, bars, restaurants, and lake with a range of water activities. There is an outdoor tennis court 5kms away at Seyches, at Tombeboeuf both tennis courts and a nine hole golf course with a very pleasant atmosphere and a welcome for visitors. Both of these villages have restaurants providing an excellent lunchfor €12, including wine. The property consists of two buildings, the idyllic cottage which has a barn attached and a further barn,50 metres below, part of which forms the upper terrace to the swimming pool. It is set in two acres of garden with extensive and peaceful views down the valley and across to the oak woodland opposite.It is an idyllic spot for those who like complete privacy. The interior of the cottage features tiled floors, oak beams and a logburner.
Accommodation:
The living roomis comfortably furnished with a nice blend of traditional styles. Divided from the living room by the old beams is a fitted oak kitchen, with fridge/freezer, a gas hob, electric oven, microwave cooker, toaster, plenty of cutlery, crockery and cooking equipment. There is a separate utility room with washing machine. There is a charming twin bedded room with a huge armoire. The double bedded room also has an armoire, french windows lead out to the garden.The new shower room has superb fittings and is bright and fresh. Water pressure is excellent and there is constant hot water. The W.C is separate.
Away from the cottage and above the swimming pool is a lovely terrace area with a barbeque, drinks fridge and dining table with chairs. Below that is a sunbathing terrace with loungers, steps lead down to the 10 x 5 metre swimming pool. The pool has a shallow end 1 metre deep and to help maintain a warm pool there is a solar cover. There is a solar heated shower on the poolside. A superb area to relax and play. There is another dining table with chairs just outside the cottage for meals under the shade of the accacias.
This is a lovely cottage in a tranquil setting with peace, privacy and comfort in a rural landscape..
