This stone cottage restored by local artisans is a very comfortable, attractive and well equipped holiday cottage. Situated on a quiet country lane, it has lovely views of rolling fields and woodland. The village of St Barthelemy is a twenty minute walk to the well stocked grocery/baker and papershop. There is small bar and occasionally live music there. Miramont, 7kms, has a range of banks, supermarkets and cafes plus a great Monday morning market. Nearby Marmande has excellent shopping and rail links to Bordeaux (park & ride) and Paris. Tennis, golf, horseriding, cycling, canoing, visiting the historic Bastides and many street markets & festivals fill the summer months.The Atlantic coast, one and a half hours away and the Pyrenees, Pau or Biarritz three hours away,  all merit a visit.

Accommodation:

There is a fitted oak kitchen with dishwasher, microwave, gas hob and electric oven. A fridge/freezer and generous amounts of crockery, The washing machine is in the utility room. There is a small dining table in the kitchen and a larger one in the living room. The sitting room is very comfortable with tiled floor, beamed ceiling and efficient log burner. There are some books and games an excellent HiFi and a TV with English "Free to Air" channels and a DVD player. The shower room is white tiled with a large shower, hand basin set into a wide worktop and plenty of bathroom storage. The WC is separate. The two bedrooms, prettily furnished, one twin and one double, have huge french Armoires, wooden floors and views across the garden and fields beyond. The double bedroom leads out onto the garden through new French windows.

Garden and Pool

Stroll across the garden to the second barn which forms the back of the summer terrace above the pool. There is a built in barbeque, drinks fridge, and dining table, parasol and sunloungers. Down a few steps to the 10 x 5m pool with a solar cover to conserve the warmth and a poolside shower. There is a second dining table and chairs just outside the cottage under the shady umbrella of the accacia trees. The garden, in all about 2 acres, is quiet peaceful and private with lovely views.
